Costa Rica’s terrain varies between coastal plains and rugged mountains: three mountain ranges run through the country and there are over 100 volcanic cones, several of which are major volcanoes. The highest point is Cerro Chirripo, which rises to 3,810 meters (12,500 ft) in the Chirripo National Park.

But ground transportation can take many hours on its rough, windy, and mountainous roads.

Depending on your travel route, domestic flights may be the most convenient and sensible option. Traveling between some destinations can take up to 8 hours by ground, while a domestic flight can cut that travel time to 35 minutes a major time saver, especially if you have only a short time in Costa Rica.

HOT SPRINGS

There are many naturally occurring hot springs around the world, many affiliated with volcanic activity. In Costa Rica, there are hot springs of different temperatures, flow volumes and mineral content that can be found in the regions around the Arenal, Irazu, Miravalles and Rincon de la Vieja Volcanos, and others in the Orosi Valley or near Ciudad Quesada in San Carlos.

Hot springs are considered a natural expression of Earth’s inherent energy. Geologically, thermal natural springs are 97% rain-based and 3% magma-based. Rainwater enters the earth through fissures on the surface and is then heated by magma found in the earth’s core. Once heated, the waters rise to surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky stratus.

Branches of the thermal rivers flow through the gardens or down from the rainforest. Springs captured for cold water consumption for guest use in the resort…: a real Paradise! THE BEACHES

Costa Rica has nearly 300 different beaches along its stunning Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, each with a unique draw and distinct setting.
